2010 Great American Cleanup

The Great American Cleanup is an annual, nationwide, community improvement campaign started by Keep America Beautiful in 1999. Each April, thousands of Georgians celebrate Keep Georgia Beautiful Month by cleaning, restoring, and beautifying their communities as part of the Cleanup. Click here to learn more about the Great American Cleanup. This year's Great American Cleanup will be April 17th.

When will the Cleanup be?

This year's Great American Cleanup will be Saturday, April 17th, but dumpsters will be available at collection spots around the county from April 12th through the 21st.

You can sign up at the KSB office at the Screven County Courthouse in Sylvania, the following locations in other communities or you can just let us know and we can write the information down. Click here to download a sign-up sheet.

Supplies such as trash bags and gloves will be provided. We are also giving away t-shirts. There will also be prizes! Anyone that signs up and cleans up an area is automatically entered into a drawing.

You can select the area of the county that you would like to pick up. An area can be suggested if you do not have one in mind. Click here to view areas already selected.

Where do I drop off the trash?

Once you have collected the trash, you can drop it off at several locations. The items will be weighed. The weights of all items will be announced later. These weights determine the winners of the community competition.

There will be a friendly competition between communities to see which picks up the most.
Help your community win by signing up to volunteer today!!
