Litter Prevention

The main focus of the Keep Screven Beautiful Commission is to encourage and educate the citizens of Screven County to end litter and keep Screven County a beautiful and healthy place to live.

We have several activities that help us spread the word:

Georgia Governor Unveils New Statewide Anti-Litter Campaign!

The campaign includes a three-pronged approach:

  • Education

  • Enforcement

  • Eradication

Visit www.litteritcostsyou.org today and learn more about it!

Littering is against the law. Anyone caught littering in Georgia can be ordered to pay a fine of $100 to $1,000. People who litter can also be ordered to clean up the littered area. Click here to read more Litter facts.

Click here to learn about our Litter Index and how it helps us determine the areas that need our help and how it measures our progress.
